Last weekend the grade 11 oe class went out into the backcountry to provide service for causes to benefit people who like to live in mother nature's playground. Other goals included practicing good camping ethics, risk management, group concerns and of course the freedom human powered travel.
Doug Tyrrell and Sarah Richardson led Oliver, Ari, Mattias, Kim and James in kayaks over to Discovery Island to pull invasive species while adj and Lauren Woolsey took Kat, Kathrine, Issy, Conor, Georgia, Spencer and Owen up to the Kludahk Trail to carry in cabin reno materials. Here are some pics from the adventures.

gr 10 gulf islands kayak trip May 11-13.
Thanks goes to katriona, jess, sara, issy, kathleen, kim, sydney and spencer for such a fun trip through the southern gulf islands our local playground. we had a healthy mix of rain, sun and wind on our way from the gns beach to sidney in 3 days. despite the broken rudder issue the trip was a pleasure for me to guide with such beautiful scenery and great kids.
